We are pleased to announce that Albany Group has renewed its Cyber Essentials Plus certification, reaffirming our continued commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity and data protection.

In today’s increasingly complex digital landscape, cyber threats are evolving at pace. Organisations of all sizes face growing risks, from phishing attacks and ransomware to data breaches and system compromise. Against this backdrop, maintaining independently verified security standards is not simply a compliance exercise — it is a fundamental business responsibility.

What is Cyber Essentials Plus?

Cyber Essentials Plus is a UK Government-backed certification scheme designed to help organisations protect themselves against the most common cyber threats. While the standard Cyber Essentials certification is based on a self-assessment, Cyber Essentials Plus goes further.

It includes a rigorous, independent technical audit of an organisation’s systems to verify that robust security controls are properly implemented and operating effectively.

This assessment covers key areas including:

  • Secure configuration of devices and systems

  • Access control and user privilege management

  • Malware protection

  • Patch management and software updates

  • Firewall and internet gateway security

Achieving — and renewing — Cyber Essentials Plus demonstrates that these controls are not only documented, but tested and validated by external assessors.

Why Renewal Matters

Cybersecurity is not static. Threat actors continuously adapt their tactics, and technology environments evolve as organisations grow and modernise. For this reason, certification renewal is critical.

By successfully renewing Cyber Essentials Plus, Albany Group demonstrates that our security framework continues to meet stringent, externally assessed standards year after year.

This renewal reflects:

  • Ongoing monitoring and strengthening of our IT infrastructure

  • Regular review and improvement of security policies and procedures

  • Continuous staff awareness and responsible access management

  • Proactive vulnerability management and system updates

Rather than viewing cybersecurity as a one-time milestone, we treat it as an ongoing commitment embedded across the organisation.

Protecting Our Clients, Partners and People

Trust sits at the core of our relationships. Our clients rely on us not only for expertise and delivery, but also for the secure handling of sensitive information and operational data.

Renewing Cyber Essentials Plus provides assurance that:

  • Client data is protected through verified security controls

  • Our internal systems are safeguarded against common attack vectors

  • Access to information is carefully managed and restricted appropriately

  • We maintain resilience against everyday cyber risks

While no organisation can claim immunity from cyber threats, independent certification demonstrates that robust preventative measures are actively in place.

Security as a Business Priority

At Albany Group, security is woven into our governance framework and operational culture. It is supported by leadership oversight, structured policies, clear accountability, and ongoing improvement initiatives.

Our approach includes:

  • Risk-based security management

  • Regular internal reviews and compliance monitoring

  • Investment in secure infrastructure and best-practice technologies

  • Continuous improvement aligned with evolving industry standards

Cyber Essentials Plus complements this broader framework and forms part of our wider commitment to responsible business practices and operational integrity.

Looking Ahead

The digital environment will continue to evolve — bringing both opportunity and risk. As technology advances, so too must the controls and practices that protect it.

By renewing our Cyber Essentials Plus certification, Albany Group reinforces its position as a security-conscious, responsible organisation committed to protecting data, maintaining resilience, and upholding the trust placed in us.

We would like to thank our team for their diligence and professionalism in maintaining the standards required to achieve this renewal.

Security is not just about compliance. It is about confidence, credibility, and continuity. And we remain committed to strengthening all three.
