STEWART GRIFFITHS - CO-FOUNDER & CEO
Co-founder and CEO of Albany Group, responsible for setting vision and strategy. Stewart served as a Royal Marine before moving into the security and intelligence industry — ultimately transferring his skills to the risk intelligence and regulatory compliance sector. His experience allows him to analyse threats and opportunities — and rapidly apply pragmatic problem solving to achieve objectives. Stewart’s thirst for challenge extends into his personal life, where he enjoys rugby, cycling, snowboarding and mountaineering.
ADAM RICHARDS - CO-FOUNDER & COO
Co-founder and COO of Albany Group. Starting his career in the Royal Marines, he developed a deep understanding of the importance of accurate, real-time intelligence — and its game-changing potential when applied in the right ways to the right challenges.
The Marines have also left Adam with military-grade attention to detail, helping him to both co-found and grow Albany Group. Adam spends his downtime with family and friends.
ANDY STEVENSON - SENIOR ADVISOR
A 20-year veteran of the insurance sector. Andy has led business transformation initiatives across the insurance sector, with senior roles at institutions such as Hiscox and Lloyds of London.
Andy’s has seen him travel across the globe, where he has developed a deep understanding of general and specialist insurances across the UK, Europe and North America.
DAVID ABRAHAM - CTO
David is chief technology officer at Albany Group and is responsible for all business development activity and innovation. He has worked in the technology industry for over 20 years, most of which has been spent in senior management roles.
David is also a key golfer and has recently become a fitness enthusiast.
ALEXANDER SPANN - COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
Alexander is commercial director of Albany Group. As a strategic marketer of new disruptive technology products, Alexander collaborates with clients and partners to realise the mutual benefits of commercialising emerging technologies.
His background in strategy consulting with major systems enables him to support many technology enterprises as a partner and investor. A lover of extreme sports, you will find him cat-skiing in Alaska or kitesurfing in Bali.
NIKKI DANIELS - ADVISOR
Nikki has over 35 years of experience in the insurance sector and works as an advisor to Albany Group. During her career, she has worked with many brokers, high street chain, contact and call centres both general and specialist.
In the 1980s and 1990s, she led the market with innovative solutions for affinity-based insurance propositions. She has also held senior roles at Jardine Lloyd Thompson in the UK and Australia and the affinity division of Marsh. Nikki also works with PE and VC companies to review the state of the UK insurance market and is a founding director of E-Zee Insurance Solutions.
PAUL HEWITT - ADVISOR
Paul works across the financial services, healthcare, business services and technology sectors alongside being an advisor with Albany Group. After qualifying as a chartered accountant, he became finance director of several listed and private equity-backed companies in several different sectors. In 2007, he ceased to be a full-time executive and has held non-executive, chairman and advisory roles ever since. He is currently a non-executive director at Provident Financial, Charles Taylor and Feebris. Paul is also chairman and co-founder of technology company, Kintell. Outside of work, he is a family man with who loves spending time with his four children.
EZECHI BRITTON - ADVISOR
Ezechi is an advisor to Albany Group. Having spent over 15 years in the industry, he has extensive experience in delivering Fintech platforms within both start-ups and top tier investments banks.
Prior to this, he worked in derivatives risk and pricing technology at Lehman Brothers and then Credit Suisse in Zurich. His time in the industry has also seen him become co-founder of financial wellbeing provider, Neyber. Recently, he has founded a venture named Code Untapped, which focuses on training and providing industry experience for BAME talent in web development skills.
ANDREW SELLERS - ADVISOR
Andew Sellers is a board member and advisor who brings over 25 years of industry experience and expertise to Albany Group. He started his career as a graduate with Royal & Sun Alliance, before moving to Hiscox in 1997. Andrew has been at the company ever since, advancing rapidly to hold senior positions that include head of technology underwriting (Europe), and head of claims supplier management. Andrew is now group head of claims vendor management.
Andrew’s passion is to deliver great customer service, and he also devotes time to help others hone their industry skills through coaching and mentoring.
MATT POTASHNICK - ADVISOR
Matt Potashnick is an advisor and board member at Albany Group. Matt brings extensive commercial, industry and technical expertise, founding and leading the insurance companies Intergroup Insurance in 1996 and Swiftcover in 2005.
At Swiftcover, Matt brought true disruption to the industry. He pioneered the systems and technologies that enabled customers to buy insurance online for the first time in the UK market, before leading the business into home and travel insurance. Swiftcover was acquired by AXA in 2007, where he continued to serve as CIO. Matt is also chief information officer at the UK’s largest life insurance broker, Reassured.
